The Mount Vernon School District is seeking applicants for the position of School Resource Officer beginning the 2025-2026 academic year. Applicants should have the ability to serve in the dual role of law enforcement and community engagement within our schools. Job responsibilities include maintaining a safe school environment, investigating law violations occurring on school property, responding to safety concerns, providing mentorship and education, and acting as a liaison between the school and law enforcement agencies.

The position will also require assisting with school events, monitoring student behavior, and providing support for school operations.

210-day contract

A commission through the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department or the ability to obtain one.
