Description
Mt. Vernon R-V Schools is now accepting applicants for a Central Office Administrative Assistant. This is a 12 month position. The Central Office Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Superintendent and district office. This position serves as the first point of contact for staff, parents, and community members, requiring professionalism, discretion, and excellent communication skills. The administrative assistant will be responsible for the following:
*Provide administrative support to the Superintendent with professionalism and confidentiality.
*Coordinate new hire onboarding, certifications, and personnel records in compliance with DESE requirements.
*Manage substitute applications, accounts receivable, and employee databases.
*Assist with hiring processes, correspondence, reports, and board of education documentation.
*Maintain accurate financial and personnel records and a welcoming central office environment.
*Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and community members.
*Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
*Provide administrative support to the Superintendent with professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
Previous experience in a school district or office administrative setting preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and other relevant software.
Ability to learn and navigate state reporting systems and HR/finance platforms efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Positive interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff and the public.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
