Description
Mt. Vernon Elementary School is seeking applicants for an administrative assistant position. The Elementary School administrative assistant supports daily school operations by providing excellent communication to all stakeholders, strong organizational skills, and dependable office support. This role helps maintain an efficient, welcoming front office while ensuring confidentiality and positive communication with students, staff, families, and the community. This is a 196 day contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for parents, students, staff, and visitors.
Manage phones, schedules, attendance, and student records with accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide clerical support to administrators and teachers, including filing, copying, and data entry.
Communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, and through email.
Use Google Workspace and Microsoft Word/Excel to create and manage documents and reports.
Assist with school communications, events, and general office operations.
Maintain a positive, welcoming environment and strong connections with families and the community.
