Mt. Vernon R-V School District is seeking applicants for an Intermediate Principal starting in the 2026-27 school year. The Intermediate Principal provides instructional leadership and administrative direction for students and staff in grades 3–5. This role ensures a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. The principal oversees daily school operations, supports high-quality teaching, builds strong relationships with families and the community, and upholds district policies and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Foster a positive, student-centered school culture focused on academic and social-emotional growth.

Support, supervise, and evaluate staff to ensure high-quality instruction.

Use data to guide school improvement and monitor student progress.

Communicate clearly and consistently with students, staff, parents, and the community.

Oversee student behavior, discipline, attendance, and safety procedures.

Manage daily operations, including schedules, staffing, and budgets.

Implement district curriculum, policies, and strategic initiatives.

Build strong partnerships with families and community organizations.

Master’s degree in Educational Administration

Valid principal or administrator certification.

Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably at the elementary or intermediate level.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build positive relationships and lead with integrity, collaboration, and a student-centered approach.
