Description
Mt. Vernon R-V School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Principal to provide instructional leadership and oversee the daily operations of the high school. The Principal will foster a positive school culture, support staff and students, and ensure academic excellence, safety, and compliance with district and state requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong instructional leadership focused on student achievement and continuous improvement
Supervise and support teachers, staff, and instructional programs
Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Oversee student discipline, attendance, and activities
Collaborate with district administration on curriculum, assessment, and school improvement initiatives
Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and the community
Manage building operations, schedules, and budgets in alignment with district goals
Ensure compliance with board policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards
Commitment to student success and staff development

Requirements
Valid state principal certification
Master’s degree in Educational Administration
Successful experience in secondary education and school leadership
