Description
Mount Vernon High School is seeking applicants for the position of Activities Director. The Director of Activities provides direction for the planning, implementation, and coordination of the district's activities and athletic programs and assists the appropriate principal in evaluation of coaches and sponsors. The position also serves as liaison to booster groups and oversees collaboration of coaches and support groups for specific programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and oversee all athletic and extracurricular programs, including scheduling contests/events, coordinating facilities, transportation, officials, supervision, and game operations in compliance with MSHSAA, conference rules, and district policies.
Lead, supervise, and support coaching staff and sponsors, including selection recommendations, orientation, training, evaluation, and ongoing collaboration to improve programs.
Ensure student eligibility, safety, and compliance, including academic/physical requirements, record keeping, reporting, rules enforcement, and submission of required documentation.
Manage budgets, resources, and facilities, including fundraising oversight, equipment inventory, work orders, contracts, payments, and coordination with maintenance and vendors.
Serve as the primary liaison and communicator with principals, superintendent, board of education, booster clubs, parents, community partners, and governing organizations.
Promote professionalism, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to board policies, fostering positive relationships, pursuing professional growth, and serving as a positive role model.

Requirements
Education/Experience-Two years successful teaching/coaching experience is required. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Valid Missouri teacher certification required and secondary principals certificate preferred. Appropriate certification in field.
