The classroom teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and rigorous learning environment that fosters academic growth and social-emotional development. This role requires a data-driven educator who can navigate testing windows (including STAR and DESE/MAP assessments) while maintaining a student-centered classroom. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional who excels in inclusive practices and maintains proactive communication with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Excellence: Deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in core subjects (Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies) tailored to the developmental needs of intermediate school learners.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Administer and analyze frequent assessments, including STAR Testing, to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Inclusive Education: Collaborate closely with the Special Education (Sped) and Title departments. Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and "Compass Room" staffings to ensure all learners receive necessary accommodations and support.
Professional Collaboration: Actively participate in grade-level planning, and building-wide professional development.
Community Engagement: Maintain professional and empathetic communication with families, including scheduled conferences and regular updates regarding student achievement and behavioral growth.
Safety & Compliance: Supervise students at all times. Maintain accurate records and adhere to all Board policies, including mandatory reporting of suspected abuse or neglect.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Elementary Education
Licensure: Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
Communication Skills - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with the parents, peers, and administration
