The Mount Vernon Board of Education is proud to announce that Mrs. Sarah Garner has been hired as the Principal of Mount Vernon Intermediate School beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.
Mrs Garner has spent the last six years as the Principal of Monett Elementary School. and the previous nine years as the Assistant Principal at Monett Elementary. Prior to joining the Monett School District, Mrs. Garner spent nine years teaching Fifth Grade in the Joplin School District.
Mrs. Garner earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Radford University, a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from William Woods University, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
Mrs. Garner is replacing Dr. Garrett Prevo who is moving to the role of Principal at Mount Vernon High School next year.
