The Mount Vernon R-V Board of Education has selected Dr. Garrett Prevo to serve as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent of Schools. The Board approved the appointment during a closed-session meeting on Thursday, December 18.
Dr. Prevo has served the Mount Vernon R-V School District for the past three years as High School Principal. Prior to that role, he spent three years as Intermediate Principal within the district. Before joining Mount Vernon, Dr. Prevo served for seven years as an Assistant High School Principal and five years as a Lead Principal at the Elementary level, bringing a broad range of leadership experience to his new position.
Dr. Prevo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree from Missouri State University and completed his Doctorate at the University of Missouri.
Dr. Prevo will assume the Assistant Superintendent role following the retirement of Liz Elsey and is scheduled to transition into the Superintendent position beginning July 1.
